Autumn
When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year.
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year.

I felt a bit crafty this weekend
and decided to make a new wreath
for my front door
I scored a great deal on the already decorated
wreath at TJ Maxx
Then I went to work personalizing it just a bit
I picked up a wooden C at Hobby Lobby
along with some coordinating
paint colors and ribbon
Painted the C a butternut squash color
appropriate for fall, huh?
Next, the tricky part, CIRCLES
I used a stencil but I still had some
splotches of paint going on
Guess becoming a professional stenciler
is OUT for me!
I used ribbon to tie the C to the wreath
(I love this patterned ribbon)
Finally, to dress it up a bit
I added a bow
Wholla!
Hanging on the front door
just waiting to welcome you in!
Happy fall, y'all!

That wreath turned out great! I think the circles are just perfect!

ReplyDeleteLove your wreath! I redid a wreath that I have had forever by adding an initial and a new bow. I really like how you put the circles on your initial.

Love your wreath. I also like buying a wreath then adding my own touches - you did a great job. Red sunflowers make me so happy, how can you not smile when you see them?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my fall front porch. Off to see what else you have been up to. Have a great night.
Over here from Coastal Charm and this is really pretty!
